How To Create A List Building Machine

One of the very first things you should do when marketing online is to create the tip of the pyramid of your sales funnel by putting a squeeze page on your website.

A squeeze page is just a web page where you have your opt-in form so subscribers can join your list. In exchange for joining your list you offer them a free gift. The free gift can be anything that can be downloaded online, such as: An ebook, videos, graphics, or software.

The reason that you want to capture your visitors names and emails is because people rarely buy from a site the first time they visit. Once they become a subscriber then you can send them offers via email using an auto-responder service such as Aweber.

With Aweber you can add follow-up messages that go out a pre-determined intervals. You can add as many follow-up messages as you like. Your follow-up messages can contain offers or content. It is a good idea to send your list some quality content occassionally. A good ratio of offers to content would be 3:1. After every three offers you email out send them some valuable information that they can use.

If you really want to create a list building machine a membership site would be the way to do it. Have a free membership level where members can access your content. You could create a video course, or add Private Label Rights products for your members to download.

Login Frequency Marketing is the ideal membership script to use when setting up your membership site. It integrates with all major auto-responder services, and has many other features including a built in affiliate program so that your members can promote your site in exchange for affiliate commissions.

Having an exit pop-up on your site with a free offer can improve the conversion rate on your website 3 times over. The classiest looking pop-up script is Popup Domination. The pop-up is very attractive and easy to modify.

If you are looking to build a list in the Internet Marketing/Make Money Online niche then you can get started right away with the Dynamite List Builder. This list building system includes a squeeze page, and after your visitors subscribe they are presented with a one time offer. This system lets you build your list while making money at the same time. I highly recommend it. Not only that the Dynamite List Builder also includes follow-up messages that you can add to your auto-responder. These follow-up messages promote top-notch affiliate programs that your subscribers will value.

Once you have the point of your sales funnel in place with a squeeze page then you can begin working on your backend. Just keep on building your backend so it becomes more and more profitable. While your working on improving your back end your list is still growing and your auto-responder is presenting offers to your subscribers. That is why it is so important to make sure that one of the first things you add to your website is your squeeze page.

Private Label Rights Products Are Your Shortcut To Internet Marketing Success

The best way to make money online is to sell downloadable digit products such as Ebooks, videos, and software.

At some point you should start creating your own products as that will open up a lot of opportunities for you. The problem with creating your own products is that it takes a fair amount of time. One way to get around this is to purchase products with Private Label Rights (PLR).

PLR products include a license that allows you to resell the product. Each licensing agreement is different so make sure you always check the license of the PLR product you are selling. Sometimes you can claim the product as your own, and put your name on it. Some PLR products come with the Photoshop files so that you change the name of the product and make it totally unique.

Be forewarned though not all PLR products are created equal. In fact some are downright crap! A site I fully endorse that sell products with PLR is Platinum Resell Rights. Once you take a look at the site you will see what I mean by quality. Most product with resell rights are not of this caliber. Very few come with banners and other promotional material. Platinum Resell Rights really has taken PLR to a whole new level. When you have a chance check them out.

When selling a PLR product I recommend that you alter the product so that it is different from everybody else that is selling it. At the very least re-write the sales copy so that you appear different to the search engines. Ideally you want to change the name of the product entirely so that you are selling a product that no one else is.

Shiny Object Syndrome

Once you get on a few internet marketers list, and especially if you follow WSO’s on the Warriors Forum then chances are you will fall prey to “Shiny Object Syndrome”.  Its hard not too, especially with the terrific value of some WSO’s.

I had been pretty good about not purchasing products like crazy, and jumping from one shiny object to the next, but then did manage to get myself into a bit of trouble with spending money I hadn’t made yet.

I was rollin pretty good this year, and the money looked like it would just keep on coming in no matter what so I overspent and racked up my credit card with about $10,000 in products.  Now ten grand is a fair chunk of cash.  In retrospect it was a very stupid move, but I like to think I learned a valuable lesson.  So right around this time my business dropped off sharply.  I freaked right out and began cutting expenses including letting go my full-time writer.  Things were very lean during this time and I thought “Oh great now I have done it.  I am going to end up bankrupt”.  The stress caused me to get less work done than normal, so I started falling behind.  I really though that it might be the end, and that would mean getting a job, which I just could not fathom.  Anyways my online business did rebound and I recovered, but I did have to borrow some money to get me through.

The moral of the story is: One – Do not spend money you do not need, and Two – Don’t keep thinking the next product you is going to be you saviour.  We are constantly bombarded with new product launches, new plugins for WordPress, and the latest shiny toy.  When we buy it creates two probems: One – Information Overload, Two – Less cash.  Like they say “Its not what you make, but what you save that counts”.

So what do you do to keep safe from the Shiny Object Syndrome?  Here are some suggestions:

  1. Build a shield of willpower and make a vow not to buy, especially if it is something you don’t need to grow your business.
  2. Don’t buy unless you have the money, especially if it is something you d….
  3. De-subscribe from email lists.  You will get less offers, have less distractions, save yourself time, and spend less money.
  4. Stop hanging out on the Warriors Forum.

And here are some suggestions on what you should be doing with your most valuable asset  - your time:

  1. Create products.  Become a product creator instead of buyer.
  2. Work on what is going to advance your business and make you money.
  3. Recruit affiliates to market your products

Hopefully these suggestions will keep you on track in the 2012.  Happy New Years!

Is Internet Marketing Right For You?

I love internet marketing, but it isn’t necessarily the right kind of business for everyone.

Internet marketing is a business and there are a lot of upsides to it.  The most important one for me is that I am self employed.  At this point in my life there is no way I could work for someone else.  There are many kinds of online businesses, but when I talk about internet marketing I am not really being specific enough.  What I should be calling it is online information marketing.

So let me define what I mean by online information marketing.  Its pretty simple.  You sell digital products online.  These digital products can be your own, or you could be promoting someone else’s products as an affiliate and be earning a commission on sales through your affiliate link.  A digital product is any kind of product that can be accessed, or downloaded online; software, videos, ebooks, graphics, ready made websites, and  membership sites all fall within this category.

Like I said there are lots of different kinds  of online businesses.  If you sell products on Ebay then that is a online business, but I prefer selling digital products, and it is how I make my living.

As a digital product vendor who sells products online there are some awesome benefits.  Here are some of them:

  • Set it and forget it.  You can set-up a site to run on auto-pilot and then never have to worry about it again, yet it still makes you cash.
  • Freedom!  You set your own hours, but not only that you can run your online business from anywhere.  You don’t even have to be at home.  You make money even while vacationing, or sleeping!
  • Money!  When you sell digital products online it gives you a totally different perspective on money.  You never know when your going to make a sale.  Imagine having a bank account that gets money added to it randomly.

For me these are some very awesome benefits, and the primary reasons why I got into this business in the first place. But, it isn’t all roses.  Here are some of the down-sides of having an online business.

  • No steady income.  Its not like a job where you know you will have money coming every two weeks.  Every month I wonder how much I will make.  Sometimes I am scared it will all end and I’ll make nothing.
  • You have to work for a while before you ever see a payday.  This could be months, or even years.  Yikes!
  • No interaction with real people.  Hey this is not always a bad thing.
  • Your business, and your income depends solely on yourself.  This can be a scary thing, but also very rewarding.  You do have to be self motivated though.  Nobody is going to tell you to get to work.
  • You need to wear a lot of hats.  You don’t have to do everything, but if you want to save money, or if your broke, you better be good at solving problems.  You can outsource anything, but like they say “If you want something done right you have to do it yourself”.

So is internet marketing right for you?  You have to ask yourself if this is what you really want to do.  Internet marketing is awesome, but it does take lots of time.  Once you get going though you can take off time whenever you want.  You really have to pace yourself according to your energy levels.  When your feeling good get as much done as you can.  When your drained take a break for as long as it takes.  I have been known to work 16 hours days for months on end, and then take 4 months off.  Some weeks I work lots, other times maybe only a couple of days.  For me this is perfect.  As much as it has been easy, it has also been very difficult.  There have been many moments of self doubt.  I am earning a full-time income, but I worry about one month to the next.  It has always worked out, but the fear is still there.

So I hope this has presented a realistic view of internet marketing.  If you still are gung-ho to try your hand at marketing online – go for it; it is a very rewarding business, and the possibilities are endless.

Till next time,

The Three Things I Learned About How To Make Money Online

When I first started looking into how to make money online I was totally clueless. I was working in construction at the time and I decide that I was I was going to make money online. I went out and bought a computer for four hundred bucks and started surfing the net to find out how it was done.

One of my friends asked me how I was planning on doing this. I didn’t really know at the time so I said that “Maybe I’ll sell books”. He laughed and said “Nobody cares about books.”

I checked out a lot of options. Surveys kept coming up so I gave it a go. Just so you know – You can’t make money that way.

Affiliate marketing popped up on my radar pretty quick, and it looked like the best way to make some cash. But I thought I would be smart and create my own membership site with a built in affiliate program.

The very first site I ever built was www.informationninja.com. I loaded it up with digital products and charged $20 per month, and offered 90% commission to affiliates (Which I changed after people told me it was too much).

It took me three months to build the site. My Girlfriend was P.O.’d at me for being online so much. She honestly thought I was just surfing the internet the whole time. Loading up the products took most of the time. Fortunately I now build membership sites in days instead of months.

Somehow I managed to get my site on page one of Google for “Resale Rights” or a similar term. I didn’t even know really anything about SEO at the time.

I didn’t make much money, but I had a free membership and people kept signing up, so as a list building machine it kicked ass.

I was still working full time, and I couldn’t keep up with adding products every week, so I ended up shelving the project. I remember thinking that I really thought I was going to be successful and make loads of cash, but it didn’t turn out that way.

My girlfriend actually wanted me to give up on internet marketing totally because it was such a huge time suck, and I wasn’t making any money. So I agreed to quit. That didn’t last long. I had a tiny taste of the potential of what the internet could offer. I was addicted, and could not give up on internet marketing.

I didn’t spend much time on trying to make money online. It was mainly on the back burner. I blogged a bit, and tried ebay, but I wasn’t really in the game.

I did make some online cash though. I flipped a domain name for a couple of hundred bucks, and I sold some information products that I had resale rights too, but really I was spending a lot of time and ending up with nothing to show for it.

I found a product online that I really liked and emailed the company to see if they had an affiliate program so I could promote their website. They didn’t, but they offered me a ridiculous amount of money to do link building for them. How could I say no? I did all of the link building manually, and it took forever, but still it was really good cash.

I was still working, so all I really did was build links for this one company for a couple of days each month. I didn’t have time to do anything else until, as fate would have it, I was side swiped on the highway on the way to work.

At this point I was very motivated to make my dream of making money online come true. I now had the time, and I didn’t know if I would ever be able to do construction again.

I went into the fitness niche and to my surprise my online income flourished. I never doubted that I would make money online, even though I put in mega hours with no results, but I didn’t expect to succeed in a niche outside of internet marketing. The niche I was in wasn’t ideal, but I did finally succeed. That success enabled me to branch out. I now had the money, and the confidence to take on other projects.

What I Learned

1) Making money online takes time

2) Success is just around the corner

3) By helping others you help yourself

Avoid These List Building Mistakes

One of the biggest mistakes I made when I started out in internet marketing was not monetizing my list.

I built a list, but rarely sent them any emails. At first I occasionally sent out free content, but I never tried to sell my list anything.

One lady actually contacted me through the Digital Point Forum after I sent out an email offering to create logos for free. She called me a spammer, and didn’t appreciate the email. I responded that she had signed up for my free membership site, and that the free logo offer was legitimate. Her response was “That was over a year ago I signed up to that site.” My point is that you should monetize your website immediately. You don’t want to put it off, and then get angry emails from people who forgot all about you.

You also need to condition the subscribers on your list. When I started out I thought people would love me because I sent out nothing but free content. In reality I was conditioning my list to expect free stuff from me. If I did send out an email promotion for a paid product chances are they would of been saying “What is this? I usually just get free stuff from this guy.” Free content is great, but you also need to market paid products to your list. Don’t feel bad about it. You are doing your subscribers a favor by recommending products. Of course I am assuming that when you email your list with an offer that it is a product that you use yourself, or you have at least reviewed the product and feel it offers value to your list.

Subscribers on your list should want to hear your opinion on products. If they don’t want your opinion then either you have not built a relationship with them, or they are not the kind of subscribers you want on your list anyways.

Often as internet marketers we are concerned that we are going to offend our list by sending them emails too often, or by selling to them too much. Naturally you don’t want to over do it with emails, but it is also possible not send out emails often enough, as was evident when I didn’t send out an email for over a year and caught flack for it.

So how much is too much when it comes to emailing your list? Well for sure you do not want to send your list multiple emails every single day. If you have a very special offer then it is ok to email your list a couple of times in a single day, but it better be a very special offer, and you better not be promoting “special offers” all of the time, otherwise it isn’t very special at all – its just annoying.

It is also ok to email your list every day, providing you are actually offering something they would want. Yes some people will get annoyed and some people will unsubscribe, but you know what? Thats ok. Its going to happen no matter what.

A list has a best before date. When a prospect signs up for your list they are currently a hot lead. They will be receptive to offers while they are fresh. After a while they may have found what they were looking for and no longer need your help; if this is the case then they will just ignore your emails, or unsubscribe.

The thing is that you cannot make everybody happy. Some people will only want an email once a month, others want one every day. My recommendation would be to focus on the people who want to hear from you all of the time. Don’t worry about the rest. Its your fans that are going to buy from you anyways.

You noticed I said “fans”? That is what you need to cultivate – People that like you and your message. This is why it is important to inject personality into your email messages. Also have a clear idea of what your message is. The more specific your message is targeted the happier your fans will be. You cannot market to everybody, so pick your audience and give them loads of value.

So while you want to promote products you should also give some free content. A good ratio of promotions to free content would be 3:1. For every three promotions you do, send out some awesome content for free.

I did say that in my opinion emailing your list every day is ok, providing your giving them value, but for the average marketer that is a huge task. Lets face it, you are going to have to have a heck of alot of content. Some marketers can do this, but for most of us this is nearly impossible. If you are like most of us then a good rule of thumb is to send an email every four days, or at least once a week.

Building a relationship with your list is far more important than the amount of times you email them each month. Don’t be afraid to add personal details in your emails. When you do it makes you more real, and therefore more likeable. Why do you think reality television is so popular? People like drama, gossip, and finding out what is going on behind the scenes.

Now I profess to hate reality tv, as I am sure a lot of other people do too, but you cannot deny its popularity, and just because I hate Jersey Shores, that doesn’t mean I am immune to all reality television. After all, I actually like The Apprentice and The Dragon’s Den. Like I said you can’t please everyone, and thats why you have to know your target market.

If you want to be successful in your email marketing campaigns you are going to have to be a personality, otherwise why should anyone even care what you have to say? Its the personal details that make people remember you. If all you do is send out swipe emails like everybody else then your subscribers won’t know you from a hole in the ground. So go ahead and tell your list what is going on in your life.

Essential Strategies For Profitable Affiliate Marketing

FREE Affiliate Marketing Training Videos —> Internet Marketing Training Videos <—

It’s not always easy to improve on your affiliate marketing methods, so make sure you’re ready to try hard when you attempt to do so. An easy, efficient program that helps you build a large customer base is very important. More experienced business owners should read on for more tips on email marketing and customizing your site for your customer base.

Be sure to use email marketing to gain advantages in your Internet marketing endeavors. Ask customers if you can add them to your contact list each time you process an order. The sign-up process should be as easy for your customers as possible. Also, be sure to only ask for their names and email address, no more. Try to email on a regular schedule. Tell them about new products that you will have and answer questions. Use a mailing program that will let you send out automated emails with a personalized message. Send thank-you emails to your customers, and also send emails letting them know about sales and discounts. If you need more email subscribers, give an offer people can’t refuse that is only available to those subscribed to your email list. You should also request feedback from your customers and offer rewards to those who respond.

By becoming familiar with your customers, you can address their needs more efficiently. Take into consideration the age of your preferred customer. Once that’s done, decide which form of communication would be best suited for them. Would they be more likely to respond to social media tactics or a simple email mailing list? You may even want to have a look at what your competitors are doing. You do not have to copy their techniques, yet you may find something they are not doing and start doing it for the benefit of your business. Ask your customers what they prefer by using surveys. Given the huge diversity in the consumer population, no individual strategy would effectively reach them all. You won’t see success overnight, but if you keep trying new things, you’ll hit upon some things that work.

You should be aware of new trends in affiliate marketing. Once you have the basics under control, it is time to expand into new markets and make serious profits. Using the internet to interact with your target audience is a great way to turn them into potential customers.

Creating and Marketing Your Own Information Products

The following is part of the transcript of Part 2 Of Continuity Overdrive by Lee McIntyre, where product creation and marketing is discussed.

You can watch the entire 8 part series on video here —> Continuity Overdrive

Step one: You figure out what topic you’re going to make and you map it out. So you say, “In month one, I’m going to talk about how to build a list.”

You have to have a hook as well, not just “How to build a list,” but it needs to be a big claim or a big benefit, something different. My “Deep Connections Dynamics” module is “How to make four times more money with e-mail marketing by selling less and earning more.” Is that a hook? Is that different? Does that have a big benefit and a big point of difference or would you just have “How to do e-mail marketing?”

Would you have “How to make four times more money with e-mail marketing while selling less and learning more?” You’d map out your first three or four months content and you’d say, “Right, now I’m going to work on list building.” “This month I’m going to deliver traffic.” “This month I’m going to deliver a membership site.”

Then you think of a cool title for each module with a nice hook. “How to build a list of 1,021 people in less than 29 days without even having a website,” is that a hook? “How to win your girlfriend back by not washing your under-….” I don’t know. I’ll stop. I don’t know where that came from.

Number two: I like to map out the content first and then I like to find experts to interview. It would be a DVD-of-the-month club but what I’m actually delivering is an audio CD. I would go and find some experts once I have my content mapped out. I would find the expert to fit in with the content I wanted to deliver and not the other way around.

I would look around my marketplace and think, “Who can help me deliver this particular piece of content? Who is accessible to me? Who can I get into content with? Who will help me do this?” Let me ask you this, if you came and asked me today for an interview, what might I say?

Participant: If it’s short, yes.

Lee: If it’s short, maybe. To be honest, probably not. Why? I have other things I need to do today and I’m busy. I have a lot of people asking me for an interview. Is there anyone here who has asked me for an interview and I have given one? Dean asked me for an interview and the reason I said yes to Dean is because he convinced me that there was going to be something in it for me.

What might that be? Exposure, bounce-back offers, which is the ability to promote myself in the audio I give to him, shared ownership. If you come to me today and say, “Can I interview you,” I’m probably going to say no. If you say, “Listen, can I interview you and I’m going to give you shared ownership so, Lee, you could do whatever you want with it.

“Here’s a suggestion. Why don’t you put it in your ‘Gold Program.’ I know you have loads of members in there. Go and put it in your ‘Gold Program.’ It will be really cool.” If you then come to me and say, “By the way, I’m going to use this content for a launch I have coming up and I’m expecting to acquire 500 new customers,” then we’re talking.

If you then say, “Look, also I’d love you to promote two of your products and services in there, maybe via an affiliate link. That would be really cool, too,” now I’m going to say yes. I’m going to say yes if I believe you. Whenever you’re approaching anyone for an interview, you have to answer the “What’s in it for them” question.

If you go to some guru in your marketplace—the dating marketplace, the make-money marketplace—if you’re asking them to give you content, you’re asking them for their time. Listen to this. The more successful someone gets, the more precious their time becomes.

When you’re talking about marketing to the affluent and people who are successful, time is one of the most precious commodities. Why is somebody really successful going to give you their time when they’d rather be spending their time with their family or their children or their wife or playing football?

Okay, there’s a benefit for you but what’s the benefit for them? Step two is approach some experts to provide content. The real key point is you need to answer the question, “What’s in it for them?” Let me just give you some really practical suggestions: shared ownership—massive, for me personally.

Bounce-back offers where they can promote themselves with the audio—massive, for me especially. Exposure—massive. How many interviews do you think I’ve done roughly? About 80 or something like that. How many of those interviews do you think point back to my products and services? Seventy nine—pretty much all of them.

Dean was saying in his continuity program he made $13,000 last month. Can anyone guess when people opt-in what the product is that they get when they opt-in? they get the interview that I did with Dean. Now if Dean’s generating $13,000 a month and I’ve done with an interview with Dean, how many people do you think are opting in and listening to my interview? A lot.

How many of them do you think visit my website and join my continuity program or buy my products as a result of that interview? A lot. Let’s multiply that by 80. Do you start to see what’s in it for me in terms of giving interviews? Would I want to give an interview then?

Do you think that might have made me several thousands of dollars and continue to do so in an evergreen, integrated way? Absolutely. Think about what’s in it for them. The big ones for me are shared ownership. That interview I did with Dean, where do you think that is? It’s in my “Gold Program” for my Gold members to listen to and in my “Point-and-Click” program for them to listen to.

Now Dean is helping me make content for my members. Bounce-back offers and exposure. Those three points are part of the joint-venture scalpel. If you go and approach anybody in your marketplace, say to them, “Look, this is what’s in it for you. You’re going to get shared ownership,” and be particular.

“You’re going to get shared ownership, Alex. I know you have a launch coming up and I’d love you to give it to your members. That would be cool if you wanted to.” Be particular. “I know, Jeff, that you have this coaching program. Why don’t you just put it in there and I’ll give you the content, the shared ownership.”

Give them bounce-back offers and be particular. “Alex, I know you have this really cool freebie. I’d love to interview you. Why don’t you mention that in there? That would be cool. Tell my audience about it.” Is that going to make you more likely to say yes? Absolutely.

Exposure—“Dave, I have 70,000 subscribers and I’m expecting 3,000 people to access this freebie. Could I interview you and would you tell people about your offer?” Is Dave going to say yes? Absolutely. If someone grabs him in the pub tonight really drunk and says, “Dave, can I interview you,” he’s going to say no.

Do you see where I’m coming from? So start stop thinking about what’s good for you and start thinking about what’s good for them. I’m trying to be really specific here for you. Step one: You figure out the topics. How do you do that? Number one, survey. If you can’t do a survey, you don t have access to survey facilities or you don’t have a list, you go to the forums.

Step two: You approach experts. What do you do? You give them what’s in it for them—shared ownership, bounce-back offers, exposure. You’ll get anyone to say yes, if they believe you. If you come to me and you say, “Listen, Lee, just getting started. Workshop is great. I’m doing a launch next month, brilliant. Just started Internet marketing today. We’re going to sell 20,000 units. Fantastic! Loads of exposure for you,” I might not believe you.

By the way, Jit Uppal told me he was going to be my number one affiliate and he is. He told me that a year ago and I didn’t believe him. Sometimes unbelievable things do happen. Step three: Decide on a theme for each piece of content and a title, allow bounce-back offers and map it out loosely.

You’ve said, “These are the topics: list building, traffic, membership sites.” You’ve found your experts and you’ve said, “I’m going to give you exposure, shared ownership, bounce-back offers.” Now you decide on the theme and the title with a big hook—“How to do X in Y,” “How to date any girl in five days without leaving your house, even if you’ve not shaved for five years,” some kind of big hook that gets people interested.

You also need a nice title—“Deep Connection Dynamics” sounds a lot better than “E-mail Marketing Today.” “The Ultimate Traffic Plan” sounds better than “Get Some Traffic Fast.” Think of a nice title, a nice theme and map it out. By map it out I mean write 10 questions you’re going to ask the person but don’t stick to it.

You don’t want to ask them, “So then, Lee, tell me about list building,” and I talk and they say, “Okay, that’s great. Now tell me about traffic.” That’s not what we’re talking about. We’re talking about mapping it out loosely so you can see a beginning, an end and it’s all interconnected.

As you go, you just free roll with it. If you get me to an interview, sometimes I have a beer beforehand and I’ll just chat about anything. That’s good. Those are the best interviews. Has anyone heard any interviews I’ve done with Jit? We have great interviews. We just have a chat, click “Record,” I’ll have a beer and it just flows.

Map out the content—beginning, middle, end—with 10 questions but don’t stick to them. Just go with the flow. If they say, “I really discovered about traffic generation when I was arrested in Vietnam and I was behind cells and I thought, ‘This is a great strategy,’” don’t say, “Okay, now tell us about list building,” ask them about it.

Decide in advance what the bounce-back offer is going to be. Say to them in advance, “What would you like to promote to my audience?” Happy with that? So we’ve decided we’re going to do a DVD-of-the-month club or an audio CD. We’ve decided we’re going to go find out what questions people want. We’re going to find their experts and then we’re going to decide theme and title, bang!

Step four: Arrange a time to suit them and record with Skype. Do you know how many people approach for an interview and they do all that stuff right and I say, “Yes, we’re in. Let’s do it,” and they say, “Great! I’m free 9:00 next Monday.” I would be like, “Well, that’s like 5:00 a.m. UK time. I’m busy.” Decide a time to meet them.

If you want to interview someone, are you prepared to get up at in the morning at 4:00 A.M. and ring them up? If the answer is no, then why should they bother giving you an interview? Record with Skype. What we do with our interviews is we record with Skype and we use a service called Pamela. If you search for Pamela with Skype, it costs about 19 Euros and it will give you crystal-clear audio quality.

You get Skype and you call them up on Skype. If they give you a phone number, you could use Skype Call Out. If they give you a Skype address, which is preferable, you just call up on Skype. You install Pamela with Skype and you just click “Record” and it’s that simple. It’s easy. You arrange a time to fit them. Give the five or six times and be prepared to put yourself out.

You finish the call and then what do you do? Step five: You might as well get the call transcribed. We use Tara at Transcription-Team.com. If she’s busy next week and I can’t get my stuff done, I’m not going to be happy. Get it transcribed. What might you do with those transcripts? E-book, special reports, manuals. Step six: Get some graphics made for your CD.

Where might you find a good graphic designer? Warrior Forum, MiniSiteStudio.com. James Dyson does all of our work really expensively but good work. He’s a good guy. Go on the Warrior Forum and find some special offers. Get some graphics made. Then what are you going to do? Step seven: Upload to Kunaki.com.

How many here have never heard of Kunaki.com? How many have heard of Kunaki.com? How many never put their hand up ever? Now you take the CD and you say, “Here’s the interview on ‘Ultimate Traffic Plan with Lee McIntyre. Here are the graphics.” You upload to Kunaki, a simple process. It’s not hard. You can read the instructions. I even have a freebie called “Quick Start Kunaki” showing you how to do it.

If you contact James on the Help desk and ask him for “Quick Start Kunaki,” he’ll give it to you. It’s free. It will show you how to upload to Kunaki. Step eight: Open up a 1ShoppingCart account or an Infusion account or PayPal. Does this sound hard? Then what do you do? You add the “Pay” button to your website. We’re going to talk about that in the next session.

When you have this all up in Kunaki, when someone’s been a member for month one, what happens? You log on to Kunaki and you say, “Send this DVD to this customer, bang!” When someone’s been a member for month two, what do you do? You say, “This is month two’s DVD. Send this to this customer, bang!” When someone’s been a member for month three, you say, “They’ve been charged today. Free month. Log in and you can do that.”

There are ways to automate it with technology and ways to pass it on to staff and delegate but that’s what you do. This is my eight-step plan to getting started really quickly before we wrap up. Step one: Figure out what topic is for each month. Where are we going to do it? Are we going to survey or are we going to go on forums?

Step two: We’re going to approach experts. We’re going to answer the “What’s it in for them” question with shared ownership, bounce-back offers, exposure. Step three: We’re going to decide on a theme and title and we’re going to map out the content loosely with a big hook. Then we’re going to give them an opportunity to promote bounce-back offers.

Step four: We’re going to arrange a time to suit them and call them up on Skype. We’re going to record with Pamela for Skype. Step five: We’re going to transcribe. Use Transcription-Team.com, if you want. Get some graphics made. Use James Dyson from Mini Site Studio. Get the graphics made. Step seven: Upload to Kunaki.

If you don’t know how, go and get my book, “Quick Start Kunaki” will show you how. Step eight: Open up a PayPal, 1ShoppingCart or Infusion account. You’re good to go. You have the continuity program, the content ready for three months. Who thinks that’s going to take you a year? Who thinks six months? Who thinks you can get that done in a week?

I think you can get that done in a day if you pushed yourself but definitely in a week. Who is going to go out of this room today and give themselves a kick up the backside and get it done? Having a continuity program has transformed my business and we’re making $100,000 this month and I’m bloody happy about it. I still drive a Skoda. I still go on bunk beds to Amsterdam and stay in three-star hotels.

Dave laughs at my car. I went to John Thornhill’s office and John Thornhill sent his son out to laugh at my car. You think I’m joking but I’m not. He said, “Go and look at his car,” and went out thinking it was going to be a Ferrari and it was a Skoda. I sleep in bunk beds. I do all of those things but we have a massive business.

We have team members. We have Mark here helping us out. We have Mark in the back that’s been with us full time on Monday. We have Lindsay who’s been with us full time now in our office. We have James at the back. Just turn around for a second and look at the back of the room. Hello! How many people would like to have a business where you have a person who stood there like a bodyguard guarding the beer and a person sitting there? Lindsay, just shout out what you’ve been working on this morning on the computer.

Lindsay: Refunds, chargebacks, duplicate orders, P1s, P2s…

Lee: Refunds, chargebacks, duplicate orders, P1s, P2s and the tasks we have. James, do you want to shout out what you’re working on right now? We need to get you some extra tasks. Thanks for that. I appreciate that. It’s a well-oiled machine back there. How many people want a business like that?

Look, the point I’m making is that’s not a hard plan. You get out of here and you give yourself a kick up the backside. Is it going to be easy? No, never. When we launched “Point-and-Click Coaching,” I wanted to cry on the day of launch. I don’t cry unless I get kicked in certain parts of my body. I wanted to cry. When we launched, we got a phone call from PowerPay 45 minutes before launch saying, “No, no, no. You can’t do this.” I’m not joking.

About 10 minutes before, we discovered that our up-sells didn’t work. I’m not joking. We had massive problems. Is it going to be easy? No. Is it going to be worth it? Yes. Who’s going to go and follow this eight-step plan and create the content for the program? Go away, get it done and transform your business. Thanks very much and I’ll see you in the next session.

Sales Letters Factory Review

saleslettersfactory 300x201

Fail!

Sales Letters Factory was a product I was very excited to try out. The promise of being able to create sales letters in minutes was pretty enticing. I thought that Sales Letters Factory would be a great product to promote to internet marketers who create their own products and would need a solution to creating sales letters quickly. In fact I even wrote up a series of email messages to promote the Sales Letter Factory.

Creating promotional emails for the Sales Letter Factory before I tested it was a stupid move on my part. I purchased the product, and then tested it out a couple of times and I was very disappointed. For one it only works on PC’s. Not a big deal, but I just wanted to give the Mac users a heads up.

If it worked well on PC’s then I would have nothing to complain about, but the only thing good about this product is the graphics. The graphics are hot. It looks like a sexy product, and I figured if someone went through that much effort to make a product that good, then the product would be a winner. Wrong. It is a simple piece of software, that hasn’t been developed to its potential.

First of all if you want to preview your sales letter you get an error message. So to view the finished project you have to save it. Once it is saved you cannot go back and change it.

The end result is crap. It is OK in that it gives you a starting point, but you will have to edit the final product to make it decent. Also when you enter your header, and product graphic it doesn’t size them properly.

I give the Sales Letter Factory a big fat ZERO. I would not recommend it. There are easier solutions for creating sales letters, such as simply using a html template. I am sure you can find some popular headlines to inspire you by doing a search on the internet, and they would likely be better than the ones included in Sales Letter Factory.

Three Step Strategy To Internet Marketing Success

Your Sales Funnel

“Successful internet marketing uses a simple formula, that if followed will enable you to make money online.”

Some people seem there is some sort of secret method to making money online. While there is a method, it isn’t a secret, and it is very easy to implement. Most people get caught up in the details, or get sidetracked, or just never get started.

The very first thing you should do is create an entry point for your sales funnel. Then you promote one web page, and build your internet marketing business on that.

People that are visiting your site are looking for information, and your #1 strategy should be to provide those visitors with high quality information. Before you ever try to sell anything give your visitors something they can use and put into practice right away.

If your goal is to make money online then this should be your initial strategy:

  1. Provide high quality information for free
  2. Set-up an opt-in page
  3. In exchange for your visitors Name and Email provide them with additional free training

Doing just the three steps above will enable you to build your list, providing you with one of the best ways to make money online.

Here is an excerpt from Continuity Overdrive: (Watch the entire video training series here)

Does someone want to shout out what the first point of our sales funnel? What do we have?

Participant: An opt-in page.

Lee: We have an opt-in page. Now I’m going to talk about our “Point-and-Click” funnel. Does someone want to tell us why we have an opt-in page, first of all? Why is that the most important part of our funnel?

Participant: [Build a list.]

Lee: Build our list.

Participant: Not everyone’s going to buy the first time.

Lee: Not everyone’s going to buy on the first contact. Do you know we have an autoresponder sequence in place and it doubles our conversion? We’re going to spend an entire step on writing your prospect autoresponder sequence. It doubles the conversion. What kind of content do we give away for our “Point-and-Click” funnel? Does anybody know? Has anybody seen our “Point-and-Click” funnel? What kind of content do we give away on our squeeze page?

Participant: High value, cheap content.

Lee: High value, cheap. We also give away an excerpt of what actually is in the continuity program. The “Point-and-Click” offer is people get my last workshop for free, if they pay shipping and handling, although we just changed it. Now they get it for $2.95. People get a $2.95 trial in to “Point-and-Click Coaching” and what basically happens is they get the recordings from my last workshop for $2.95 and they get a 14-day trial in to “Point-and-Click Coaching.”

So step one is the opt-in page. Step two is a video sales letter selling the “Inside-Out, Upside-down Workshop” for $2.95. The content I give away in the opt-in page is an excerpt from this workshop. Can anyone tell me why that might be a smart idea?

Participant: It gets people used to you and feeling comfortable with what you’re doing and used to hearing you.

Lee: It gets people used to me and people liking me. It gets people seeing what they’re going to get. What kind of section of that workshop gets people curious? What kind of section of that workshop? Do you want to give away a good bit? Do you think it was something random or one of the best bits?

Participant: One of the best bits.

Lee: One of the best bits. Do you think we just have that video on a page or do you think we have a list of? Let me tell you what we do. People opt-in and when they get the content there’s a video of me in front of a white screen saying, “Hi, everyone. My name’s Lee McIntyre from GetMoreMomentum.com. Listen, I want to welcome you.

In two moments’ time, I’m going to show you a really cool video. It’s called ‘The Seven Rules of Momentum.’ “It’s one of my most infamous presentations at one of my last workshops. It’s extremely valuable and it’s my gift to you. Enjoy!” Why do you think I have that kind of intro? It’s a bit more detailed then that but why do you think I do that?

Participant: You’ve got people hooked on what it is that’s coming. You’re giving them something.

Lee: We get people hooked. We explain what’s happening. It doesn’t exist in a vacuum. We’re also previewing people for the offer we’re going to give them. We also say, “Watch the content and then at the end of that if you like that I’m going to give you an amazing offer where you can enjoy not just 20 minutes from the workshop, you can enjoy two days from the workshop for $2.95,” and then I say, “Enjoy!”

It’s very risk free and very friendly. Then people watch the video and what do you think happens at the end? Do you think it just stops? No, there’s another video of me on a white screen saying, “I really hope you enjoyed that. By the way, that was 20 minutes from my ‘Inside-Out, Upside-Down Workshop.’ People loved it and you will too. Guess what? Now you can get it for just $2.95.”

We have different offers. In some offers you can get it for free if they pay shipping and handling. That’s what we do. That content that we give away on the opt-in page really gets people excited and really helps our conversion.

Andrew: Lee, will you share what your conversion rate is on people who’ve seen the videos and people who signed up to the trial?

Lee: It varies from traffic source is the short answer. Some affiliates get a 10% conversion, some affiliates get a 1% conversion and it massively varies from traffic source.

One of the things we’re strongest on is analyzing our data and analyzing our numbers and we break everything down. I can tell you now when Marlon Sanders has sent us traffic before we’ve had double buy-in traffic. So people who’ve bought from somebody else, then Marlon Sanders has had an offer on their thank-you page, they’ve bought from that offer and then on his thank-you page they’ve had our offer.

Who thinks that’s going to be really high-quality, endorsed traffic? That traffic converts at 15%. We’ve had traffic like that from Brian McElroy—double buyers. Double buyers are really good traffic. We’ve also had traffic from some of our affiliates like Jit Uppal, who has pop-unders. What kind of conversion do you think we get from that?

Participant: Low.

Lee: Yes, really low.

This is a tangent. One of the things that I’m always suspicious of is when people come out with really absolute figures like, “My conversion rate is ‘X,’” because it really does vary from traffic source. If someone sees a pop-under, you’re not going to get more than a 1% conversion no matter what your offer is. If you have double buyers who have bought from one place and then another place and another place and then has seen your ad, really you should be looking at high-quality traffic, high-quality conversion.

We have the opt-in page. We send people to this video where we really give good content and we have an intro and an ‘outro.’ Actually, what I should also say there is when people opt-in they don’t initially get the content. They opt-in and we take them straight to the video sales letter. They opt-in and they go straight to the video sales letter and there’s some text at the top saying, “Thanks for opting in. Listen, your goodies are going to be in your inbox in two minutes time but in the meantime just watch this video, sit back, relax and check it out.”

I’m giving you an overview of the funnel and I’m going to break it down for you in the next few sessions. What do you think we do to people who don’t buy?

Participant: Go back.

Lee: We have to go back.

Participant: With another offer.

Lee: So number three is a prospect AR sequence, a prospect autoresponder sequence.

In the prospect autoresponder sequence, we have some really cool stuff and I’m going to show them to you. We have testimonial medleys. Did you see those testimonials at the start of this workshop? We have medleys of them. We have like two testimonials and me coming on stage saying, “Look, that’s what Daniel thought of our last workshop. Pretty cool. Now let’s go see what Dean thought.”

Then a few more testimonials come up. I say, “Look, they all loved it and some of them paid ‘X’ amount to come. Now you can get it for free,” or $2.95. “But don’t take my word for it. Here’s another testimonial.” We create these medleys. We also have a lot of leaked content where we take content from the workshop. We have a strategy called “The Secret Whisper” strategy that we taught at the last workshop.

We took an excerpt and in the autoresponder sequence for a prospect we just say something like, “Listen, how would you like to quadruple your revenue with e-mail marketing? Go check out this free video prepared for you.” When they go to the free video, what do you think happens? There’s an intro of me saying, “Hi, everyone. Lee here. Welcome. Thanks for clicking the link.
