Creating and selling information products is really not that difficult. I am sure there was a time when it was a difficult process, but now days it is quite simple. If you are on this blog then obviously you have a computer. With your computer you have what you need to get started.
The Different Kinds Of Information Products
Ebooks are one of the simplest ways to create an information product. Just write about your topic and then publish it as a PDF file.
Even better than ebooks are videos. Videos have a high perceived value and some people find that it is even easier to create videos than to write an ebook. You can get started by creating a Power Point presentation and using screen capture software to record your presentation.
Podcasts, or audio programs are great. People love them because then can put them on their MP3 player and listen to them while working out, or driving to work. Audio programs are also super simple to create. If you have a Mac you can use Garage band which comes with your computer. On a P.C. you can use Audacity which is also free.
Online programs can be set up easily and they are also very profitable. You could put your ebooks, videos, and audio into a membership website. Then charge a monthly or one time fee for access. You can set it up so that the information is drip fed to members one month at a time or however you like. Setting up your membership site is really simple. Membership sites are my favorite online money making model. The very first site I ever built was a membership site where I sold products with Master Resale Rights.
My most profitable product to date is a membership site where I give access to a forum. Now this is quite the story so you might want to really pay attention to this part. I did not have to add any information to this forum as it was all entirely user generated content. That means that the members would post information in the forum and thats it! I did not even have to moderate the forum as I had members who volunteered. So to rehash here is what I did: I charged for access to a forum. Thats it! Pretty crazy isn’t it? By the way this site was ugly. In fact it is still ugly and still profitable. You can create a membership site with access to a paid forum for free using WordPress. Seriously easy stuff.
There are other kinds of information products as well but these are the 3 easiest ones to create. Seriously, if I can do it anyone can.
Tips On Selling Information Products
Once you have created your product you need to market it and make some sales. If you want some quick sales list your products as a Warriors Special Offer in the Warrriors Forum. The Warriors Forum is a great place to get ideas on how to market your product, and see how other people have successfully marketed and sold theirs. After you have launched your WSO put your product up for sale on Clickbank. This gives you the advantage of having affiliates market your product for you. As one person you can only do so much, but when you have an army of affiliates selling your product anything is possible. With affiliate marketing you give part of the sale to your affiliate as a commission.
