Its the information age and the fastest way from zero to making money online is to create your own information product. Its been said that everyone has a book within themselves. I also believe that each of us is an expert at something; no matter who we are. We all have life experiences that are of interest, or value to others. Even if you do not consider yourself an expert, chances are that you know more in your given field of expertise than enough people that you can provide value through an information product.
You don’t have to know everything to help other people. One thing that I have found is that the more I learn, the more I realize how little I know. New things are discovered all of the time, so you can’t really know everything anyways. Even experts have to constantly continue to learn, and update their skills.
Follow Your Passion
Being passionate about the topic you wish to teach people about is probably the most important trait one can have. Even if you do not have an education, lots of money, superior intelligence, or other advantages, you can likely be more successful because you are excited about what you do. That excitement and passion is what is going to carry you through when times get tough. There are many people who are blessed with advantages but do not realize their full potential because they have never had to struggle. Its the struggle that builds your character and makes success that much sweeter.
Types Of Products
In most cases you are your own product. Even if your product is a piece of software that you created, if you can put your personality into the marketing of that software, you will be giving it the human touch. In the internet marketing industry you will be marketing yourself personally. In order to appeal to people you have to build a relationship. If people don’t feel a connection with you, then why should they buy your product? Once you have told your story, people will have an understanding of how you achieved your online success. After all everyone success story had to start somewhere. That story can even be a product. You can pass along your experiences, and advice.
The most common type of product is the ebook. A ebook is just a PDF file. You can find PDF creators online for free. Even better than creating a ebook is video creation. Videos are great because you either record yourself, or record your computer screen. I use Open Office to create slide shows that I record on my computer using Camtasia. Open Office is basically the same thing as Microsoft Office, expect Open Office is totally free. Camtasia is super easy to use and very inexpensive. Mac users are often partial to Screenflow. I am a Mac snob, but I preferred Camtasia, but most people consider Screenflow to be a better product. When your ready to record some screen shots download the trial version of either Camtasia or Screenflow. The free trials are normally 30 days. That way you can play around with both of them if you want, and you don’t have to pay for it until your ready to.
Other kinds of products that are popular in the internet marketing industry are teleseminars and seminars. A teleseminar is like a seminar except people sign up and then a link where they go at a predetermined time. Attendees can listen in, watch what is going on via their computer, and they can interact with the speaker by asking questions. If your okay with speaking in front of an audience then you might even do real life seminars.
Since were now talking about off-line products I might as well mention books, and CD’s. Writing a book, or creating a CD package might sound daunting, but there is one guy who shows you how it is done. In fact, he is the experts expert.
